Description of the offer This Portuguese winery was set up to produce and market a range of wines from the Douro, which is Portugal's largest wine-producing region and the world’s first demarcated region. The specificities of the vineyards along the Douro River and its tributaries, the schist soil that preserves the heat and erosion and the climate that is characterized by very cold winters and hot dry summers allow for an impressive terroir-driven expression of grape varietals. Plus, soils are beneficial for the longevity of the vineyard allowing more sugar and more concentrated musts. Their wines have Controlled Designation of Origin meaning all the wines have been officially tasted, tested and approved. The cellar was founded in 1962 and is located north-east of Portugal. The winery has the most modern winemaking technology and skilled professionals capable of developing high quality wine. The winery receives each year about 2 million kg of grapes harvested in vineyards framed on the territory (DOC) wines of the Douro. The most planted grape varieties are Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão and Muscat. The grapes for the production of white wines are made from the Malvasia Fina, Gouveio, Rabigato and Viosinho. For the production of wine from Muscat, they use caste Moscatel Galego. The winery produces and markets red and white table wine (wines from the protected geographical area), DOC wines (wines of the oldest producing regions, subject to the specific legislation), sparkling wine and Moscatel wine. The winery has been gaining ground in Portugal and is already represented in top restaurants, wine shops and, more recently, a well-known supermarket chain in Portugal. Also, the quality of their wines led the winery to win several awards, both in Portugal and abroad. The company's ambition leads its owners to forecast an increase of 25% in sales. In addition to the creation of an international distribution channel, the strategic plan for the coming years includes a combination of renovations of existing structures and construction of new facilities to expand capacity. The company is looking to establish distribution services agreements in Europe and potentially worldwide.
